Description This synopsis notice is for informational purposes only.

NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has a requirement that will be fulfilled under Task 334, Contract NNG04DA01C to provide support for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Software Integration and Visualization Office (SIVO) for the Education and Public Outreach (EPO) Project.

One of NASA’s official duties is to study the Earth and to educate the public about Earth science. NASA has very large amounts of Earth science data from satellites and from computer models of the Earth’s atmosphere, ocean, and land. NASA often works with museums and science centers to explain the Earth to the public by making images and movies from that data. These images and movies are called “data visualizations” or just “visualizations”. Museums and science centers have been coming to NASA for these exciting and unique scientific visualizations, and those visualizations are now very desirable for their shows and exhibits. A project at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center called the “Earth Science Storytelling Project” has been creating these images and movies for museums and the public from NASA data for over 10 years.

NASA GSFC has awarded Task Order Number 334 under the Mission Operations Mission Services (MOMS) Contract NNG04DA01C with Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (HTSI). This contract is a Cost plus Award Fee (CPAF), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. The above mentioned contract was awarded to HTSI on a competitive basis on October 9, 2003 with performance starting on November 1, 2003.
