Background information on the transmission:
The next ESA TV Footage will take place:
Wednesday 27 2001
11:00-12:00 GMT
and will comprise of the follwing 3 items:
1) Probing the Solar System
11:00-11:15 GMT
The Sun, like every star, is not static but an ever-changing, dynamic and highly complex ball of plasma. The solar wind, a stream of highly energetic particles ejected by the Sun’s surface, is interacting with our Earth’s own magnetosphere. ESA has launched missions that contributed enormously to a better understanding of the Sun and its interaction with the Earth. Today’s transmission not only looks at the Soho, Cluster and Ulysses missions but also at the future missions to explore the Sun and the solar system. The 6-minute A-roll contains split audio with an English guide track and is complemented by a B-roll. The script is on-line as a PDF document under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS22547.pdf
The A-roll can be watched as Real Video from http://esa.capcave.com:8080/ramgen/exploring_09112001_low.rm
2) Andromede Mission Summary
11:15-11:30 GMT
A short edited video featuring the highlights of ESA astronaut Claudie HaignerÈ’s mission to the International Space Station.
3) STS-105 Post Flight Presentation
11:30-11:50 GMT
A NASA edited highlights package of the STS-105 mission to the International Space Station with commentary by the crew. The mission also saw an ESA experiment, Advanced Protein Crystallisation Facility (APCF), being installed, signalling the start of the European utilisation of the International Space Station.
