Federal Business Opportunities synopsis for NRA-03-OBPR-01, Research Opportunities in Space Biological Sciences, Advanced Human Support Technology Program: This National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Research Announcement (NRA) solicits proposals in the following research areas: Advanced Environmental Monitoring and Control, Advanced Life Support, and Space Human Factors Engineering. Proposals are solicited for ground-based research and technology development, ground-based pilot studies, rapid technology development teams, and/or space flight experiments, depending on research area. All categories of institutions are eligible to submit proposals in response to this NRA, but only approved research proposals from U.S. institutions will be selected for funding. This research supports NASA’s mission and the Office of Biological and Physical Research (OBPR). All participants in this NRA are strongly encouraged to promote general scientific literacy and public understanding of biological sciences, the space environment, and the OBPR programs through formal and informal education opportunities. Where appropriate, supported investigators will be required to produce, in collaboration with NASA, a plan for communicating their work to the public. Beginning March 13, 2003, this NRA and other relevant information will be available electronically via the Internet at: http://research.hq.nasa.gov/code_u/nra/current/NRA-03-OBPR-01/index.html The solicitation will be open for the period through June 13, 2003; proposals may be submitted at any time throughout the period. Paper copies of the Announcement are available starting March 13, 2003 to those who do not have access to the Internet by calling (202) 479-9030 x277 and leaving a voice mail message.
