Description
NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking an industry partner to develop a design concept for a deployable/extendible optical bench (EOB) structure for the Advanced X-Ray Polarimeter (AXP) mission in support of the development of a proposal to respond to the NASA SMEX Announcement of Opportunity. It is expected that primary selection of the AXP mission under the AO (and the availability of sufficient funds) would result in a contract to design, build, and test the deployable structure system. GSFC plans to select a partner using the following steps: (1) issue the partnership opportunity document which includes a mission overview, current EOB specifications, and instructions for response (2) receive presentation packages (3) evaluate all written presentations. All Partnership Opportunity Document respondents should provide written responses, either electronically or hard copies no later than 5pm EST on March 14, 2003. The Partnership Opportunity Document does not represent a guarantee of selection for hardware development.
