Description

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Instrument Concept and Risk Reduction Study for the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Microwave Imager (GMI). The objective of the study is to develop a Instrument Concept compliant with the design and performance requirements for GMI, and that can be fabricated and assembled with a low level of cost, technical and schedule risk. The provisions and clauses in the RFP are those in effect through FAC 97-11. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 1000 employees, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFP5-03305-GAQ is on or about January 24, 2003 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about February 10, 2003. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note “B”. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
