Postdoctoral Scientist Fellowships Available: Help NASA Get to Mars
The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) at Baylor College of Medicine funds transformative research and technologies to enhance astronaut physical and mental wellness during deep space exploration missions.
TRISH is requesting proposals from the nation’s promising postdoctoral fellows performing research related to human spaceflight. Selected fellows will receive a stipend for salary support as well as an allowance for health insurance and travel for two years. An optional, competitive third year of funding may be available.
Applicants must submit research proposals together with an identified mentor and institution. Funds to support the research must be supplied by the mentor. Independent investigators with existing research grant support may request to be listed as possible mentors for this program by contacting TRISH@nasaprs.com no later than December 14, 2018. Being listed publicly as seeking a candidate for this opportunity is a courtesy offered by TRISH and is not a prerequisite to proposing.
All categories of United States institutions are eligible to submit proposals (universities, federal government laboratories, the private sector, and state and local government laboratories).

The mission of the Translational Research Institute for Space Health is to lead a national effort in translating cutting-edge terrestrial research into applied risk mitigation strategies for the human exploration of deep space. TRISH was founded in 2016 and works in partnership with NASA’s Human Research Program through a cooperative agreement. The institute is a consortium led by Baylor College of Medicine and includes the California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
