Photo Report: Training Session in Moscow for Soyuz TMA-8 Crew

On February 28, 2006 RSC Energia hosted the training sessions of Brazilian citizen Marcos Pontes under the training program for the participant in space flight to the International space station (ISS) within 10th Visiting Crew. The Corporationís specialists familiarized him with video and photographic equipment available onboard the station Russian Segment, different aspects of operating Laptop computer, methods of ham radio communication.

On March 11 the specialists from RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev and Brazilian Space Agency had the joint training sessions with ISS-13 crew commander P. Vinogradov (test cosmonaut from RSC Energia) and space flight participant M. Pontes aimed at conducting research and experiments under the flight program for the Brazilian astronaut (Centenario Project), which prescribes implementation of biological, biotechnological, engineering experiments and educational projects.

President of RSC Energia after S.P. Korolev, General Designer N.N. Sevastiyanov congratulated M. Pontes on his birthday during the joint training sessions presenting wrist-watch and memorable gold medal of the Corporation.

ISS-13 crew commander P. Vinogradov presented the Brazilian astronaut on behalf of the crew with Russian matreshka as a souvenir and pennant devoted to the coming flight.
