Photo Report: Soyuz TMA-2 and ISS-7 prime and backup crews approved by State Board at Baikonur Cosmodrome
April 25, 2003. Baikonur cosmodrome: A meeting of the State Board was held at which the Soyuz
TMA-2 and ISS-7 prime and backup crews were approved, as
well as a decision was made to continue the Rocket &
Space Complex processing for filling and launch within the
scheduled time.
The prime crew consists of: Yuri Ivanovich, Malenchenko,
commander – flight cosmonaut of RF, test cosmonaut of the
Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, and Edward Tsang
Lu, NASA’s astronaut, flight engineer.
The backup crew consists of: Alexander Yurievich Kaleri,
commander – flight engineer of RF, test cosmonaut of S.P.
Korolev RSC Energia, and Colin Michael Foale, NASA’s astronaut,
flight engineer.
