Photo Report: Chinese cosmonaut Yang Liwei Visits RSC Energia

S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia was visited by Chinese cosmonaut (taikonaut) Yang Liwei who performed the first-ever space flight in China onboard Chinese manned space vehicle “Shen Zhou-5” on October 15, 2003.

The Chinese delegation was met by the First Vice President, First Deputy General Designer of the Corporation N.I. Zelenschikov and the representatives from Russian Space Agency.

Yang Liwei, Deputy Head of International Cooperation Administration of Chinese Manned Program Office Zhou Dunshen, the First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Pan Jun and their party familiarized themselves with the enterprise Assembly and Test Center. In particular, they were shown the integrated stand of Zvezda Service Module of the International Space Station, which is the ground analog of the module as part of the operating station; the guests took a chance to examine the module from the interior.<

Also the delegation acquainted itself with the Corporationís history in RSC Energiaís Museum, the history of the leading Russian enterprise in space vehicles design, manufacture, testing and their flight implementation.

Duration of the delegation visit to the Corporation was about 4 hours.
