SATOPS MORNING REPORT – August 7, 2000
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
On Friday, August 4, GOES-8 frame breaks occurred at 1515Z, 1531Z, 1539Z,
1545Z, 1709Z, 1718Z, 1945Z and 2234Z due to thunderstorms at Wallops CDA.
On Friday, GOES-10 multiple frame breaks occurred at 1540Z and from
2200Z to 2330Z due to radio frequency interference and thunderstorms at
the Wallops CDA.
On Saturday, August 5, GOES-8 frame break occurred at 0531Z due to equipment
problem.
On Saturday, GOES-8 rapid scan operations were activated from 2226Z
until Sunday 0326Z for severe weather over northern Indiana.
On Sunday, August 6, GOES-10 frame break occurred at 0208Z due to loss
of signal synchronization at Wallops CDA.
On Sunday, GOES-8 rapid scan operations were activated from 1426Z to
Monday 0026Z for severe weather over Detroit.
On Sunday, GOES-10 image was canceled at 1152Z for south scan inhibit.
On Sunday, GOES-10 frame breaks occurred at 2122Z and 2227Z due to loss
of signal synchronization and thunderstorms at Wallops CDA, respectively.
On Monday, August 7, GOES-10 frame break occurred at 0104Z due to loss
of signal synchronization at Wallops CDA.
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
The13 meter antenna system at the Wallops CDA has been unreliably in
recording NOAA-15 data to the IMUX recorder since August 3. The problem
is under investigation. Meanwhile, the NOAA-15 passes are utilizing
the heritage system. The following passes were affected over the
weekend:
Friday, August 4
Revs 11574, G1A, G3B and G5A with 71%, 100% and 100% of the data recovered,
respectively.
Rev 11575, G4A with 100% of the data recovered.
Saturday, August 5
Rev 11588, G4A with 100% of the data recovered.
Rev 11589, G5A with 95% of the data recovered.
Sunday, August 6
Rev 11596, G1A with 100% of the data recovered.
Rev 11603, G4B with 97.9% of the data recovered.
Rev 11604, G1A with 98.1%of the data recovered.
Rev 11609, G1A with 100% of the data recovered
On Saturday, NOAA-14, rev 28854, L5B was noisy from the spacecraft with
94.7% of the data recovered.
On Saturday, NOAA-12 rev 47923, G3A was short due to equipment configuration
with 54.2% of the data recovered.
On Sunday, NOAA-14 rev 28875, G1B was noisy from the spacecraft with
96.5% of the data recovered.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
On Sunday, one OPS48 acquisition was reported as loss.
