**** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

Summary For June 18-24

Space weather reached category 3 (strong) levels on June 22. Category R2
(moderate) radio blackouts occurred at 4:22 p.m. MDT on June 22 (2001
June 22 2222 UTC) and 6:15 p.m. MDT on June 22 (2001 June 23 0015 UTC)
due to major solar flares. These were followed by an isolated category
R3 (strong) radio blackout at 10:08 p.m. MDT on June 22 (2001 June 23
0408 UTC). Category G1 (minor) to G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm
conditions occurred on June 18. There were no solar radiation storms

Outlook For June 27-July 3

Space weather is expected to be at minor levels. Category G1 (minor)
geomagnetic storm conditions will be possible during June 28 – 29 due
to an expected increase in solar wind velocities. Isolated category R1
(minor) radio blackouts will also be possible during the period.
