SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #03- 32
2003 August 12 at 01:34 p.m. MDT (2003 August 12 1934 UTC)

**** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

Summary For August 4-10

Space weather during the week reached strong levels. On August 6th, the
onset of a coronal hole and its high speed solar wind produced a
category G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm which increased briefly to a
category G3 (strong) storm. The geomagnetic storm decreased to a
category G1 (minor) storm on August 7th and 8th, then ended. A
category R1 (minor) radio blackout occurred on August 5th at 6:47 A.M.
(1247 UTC) due to an energetic solar flare. For a list of adverse
system effects related to space weather storms, please refer to the
NOAA Space Weather Scales.

Outlook For August 13-19
Space weather for the next week could reach minor levels. There is a
slight chance of a category R1 radio blackout or a category G1
geomagnetic storm.
