Summary For April 22-28

Space weather reached strong levels during the period. The category S3
(strong) solar radiation storm that began on April 21 continued through
April 22 – 23. The solar radiation storm decreased to a category S1
(minor) storm on April 24 – 25. A category G1 (minor) geomagnetic
storm occurred on April 23 due to a coronal mass shock arriving at
Earth. An isolated category R1 (minor) radio blackout occurred at 3:56
p.m. MDT on April 24 due to a moderate solar flare. For a list of

Outlook For May 1-7

Space weather is expected to be at minor levels with a chance of
moderate activity. On May 4 the a previously active region is due to
rotate back onto the visible solar disc and may result in moderate
radio blackout (R2) activity. No geomagnetic storms are expected.
