SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #05- 3
2005 January 18 at 01:08 p.m. MST (2005 January 18 2008 UTC)

**** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

Summary For January 10-16

Category R1 – minor (14 – 15 January) radio blackouts were observed due
to solar flare activity from active sunspot Region 718. Category R1 –
minor (14 – 16 January), category R2 – moderate (15 January), and
category R3 – strong (15 January) were observed due to significant
solar flare activity from active sunspot region 720. Category S1 –
minor (16 January) and S2 – moderate (16 January) solar radiation
storms were observed due to solar flare activity from active sunspot
region 720 on the Sun. Category G1 – minor (12 January) and category
G2 – moderate (15 January) geomagnetic storming occurred due to high
speed solar winds from a coronal hole on the sun.

Outlook For January 19-25

Category R1 (minor), R2 (moderate), and R3 (strong) radio blackouts are
possible from active sunspot Region 720 through 22 January. There is a
chance for category G1 (minor), G2 (moderate), and G3 (strong)
geomagnetic storms due to clouds of magnetic material from solar flares
on the Sun and from high speed solar winds from a coronal hole on the
Sun. Category S1 (minor), S2 (moderate), and S3 (strong) solar
radiation storms are possible with major solar flare activity from
active sunspot Region 720.
