POES

The Fairbanks CDAS (FCDAS) experienced a very brief power failure on at approximately 2030Z . The problem occurred when the Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) manufacturer’s site representative switched a wrong breaker while performing scheduled maintenance on the UPS system. The resulting power outage reset all systems at the FCDAS. The only POES impact was the late delivery of N18 data to EUMETSAT

All POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours. No anomalies affecting product delivery or s/c health & safety. For a detailed status and description of POES see: http://www.oso.noaa.gov/poes/index.htm

DMSP

All DMSP satellites scheduled at Fairbanks were recovered at alternate sites during the the brief FCDA power outage.

All DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours. No nomalies affecting product delivery or s/c health & safety. For more DMSP Information please see: http://dmsp.ngdc.noaa.gov/dmsp.html
