GOES

GOES-12 remained in a normal attitude control mode throughout the weekend. The spacecraft is at 72.9 degrees west longitude and is drifting eastward at a rate of .44 degrees per day. Nominally GOES-east is at 75 degrees (+/- .5) . Maneuver activity to initiate a westward drift and perform INR recovery will begin on J345 at approximately11:46Z. Maneuver activity should be completed and GOES-12 should resume operational East satellite imaging and sounding by Monday (J351) .

While GOES-10 will remain the East operational spacecraft until J351, the GOES-10 GVAR and all auxiliary services, including EMWIN, will no longer be broadcast through GOES-12 as of approximately 11:46Z on J345. Users expecting operational GOES-East GVAR should ensure they are pointed at GOES-10 through J351
