DOY 070

GOES
Note: The GOES-12 Sounder filter wheel issue is intermittent and can continue to cause pixel drop outs in data.

The (separate) GOES-12 Sounder noise has not gotten worse since last reported in November, however, it remains an issue which users should be aware of, most significantly in the shortwave (3 – 5 um) bands 13-18. Detector 2 data on the GOES-12 Sounder has exhibited the most noise.

The GOES-12 1215Z image and 1220Z sounding were lost due to a command receiver problem on the spacecraft.

All other GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
No anomalies affecting product delivery or s/c health & safety.
For GOES status and other information please see:

POES
The N15 spacecraft was commanded to reduced gyro mode (one operating gyro) and gyro #2 was commanded off due to large current spikes. Users should expect location errors in the product data.

All other POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
No anomalies affecting product delivery or s/c health & safety.
For a detailed status and description of POES see:
http://www.oso.noaa.gov/poes

DMSP
All DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
No anomalies affecting product delivery or s/c health & safety.

JASON-2
