NOAA SATOPS Morning Report: Friday, March 23, 2012
**ALERT**: GOES-15 (GOES-West) satellite is currently not in operational mode. It went into an unplanned safe mode and most of its instruments were turned off. Recovery activities continue, and engineers are currently investigating this outage. Please note that health of the satellite is not impacted; however, the estimated return to service for GOES-15 (GOES-West) is undetermined at this time. In addition, we are currently experiencing some challenges that are impacting our group e-mail notification distribution. We will return to normal operations as soon as possible, and regret any inconvenience this outage may cause. Customers or users who want to call to ask about problems or report outages can use the following contacts:

DOY 083
GOES
GOES-15 (west) On DOY81 20:45z, the s/c autonomously transitioned into Sun Acquisition mode. During the anomaly, the s/c attitude was stable
and all s/c subsystems were nominal. Recovery activities are on-going. The estimated time for returning GOES-15 to full service is still no sooner than DOY83 16:00z.
GOES-13(east) Imaging is in full disk mode until GOES-15 returns to full service.
All other GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
No anomalies affecting product delivery via GVAR or s/c health & safety.
