GOES

At 1327z and 1845z on May 27, GOES-10 frame breaks were observed and attributed to loss of signal synchronization.

At 2122z on May 27, a GOES-10 wideband sounder telemetry dropout was noted.  Wallops CDA reported that the reason was not known.

At 0343z on May 28, a transmitter issue on the HR#2 antenna at Wallops CDA caused the GOES-10 command carrier to be dropped, which suspended the schedule resulting in the imager stuck in star  mode.  Once the antenna hardware was reset by WCDAS personnel, imager was sent to nadir stare mode and the schedule was restarted at 0402z.  As a result of the anomaly, the GOES-10 0400z Northern Hemi and 0401z CONUS sounding were missed..

At 1127z and 1135z on May 27, GOES-9 frame breaks were observed and attributed to RFI in the Fairbanks vicinity (believed to be originated from radiosonde releases).  FCDAS personnel are investigating.

GOES-8 continues its westward drift at 1.06 deg/day.
