POES
NOAA-14 rev 43707 / F at 0336Z on June 23: 13M “B” IMUX did not record any data during pass and the
backup antenna was not shadowing this pass, so no data was recovered. Rev 43708 at 0518Z was called up
and both STIPs (S2B and S5A) were 1005 recovered.
GOES
At 1348Z on June 20, a GOES-9 frame break was observed and attributed to RFI (unknown); will discuss with FCDAS on Monday).
GOES-11 contamination avoidance procedures around s/c midnight were executed successfully over the
weekend. At 1920z on June 20, GOES-11 storage heaters 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 were turned off. Propellant panel
heaters1 and EPS/HEPAD heater 2 were also turned off to further configure the spacecraft for earth-pointing
operations.
At 0226Z on June 21, the GOES-9 schedule was suspended, due to an incomplete sounder register load. The
0226Z sounding was missed as a result.
At 1634Z on June 21, a GOES-10 frame break was observed and attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
At 2019Z on June 21, a GOES-12 frame break was observed and attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
At 2032Z on June 21, the GOES-9 imager was recycled due to a problem initiated by a failed commend on a
register upload. The 2024Z full disk image and the 2025Z sounding were missed as a result (these events are
under investigation with FCDAS).
GOES-8 continues its westward drift at 1.06 deg/day. The drift table with the estimated current position can be found at http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/GOES-8_Drift_Table.txt.
