NOAA GOES SATOPS Morning Report July 25, 2003 Day 206
DMSP
OPS48 rev 32529 / F at 2140z on July 24: A data loss was declared due to a ground system conflict as a result of POES operations reconfiguration of the ‘A’ system for a post pass transfer while the same system was being configured for post-pass mode. This activity caused a bit synch reconfiguration causing a 2911 spacecraft seconds, 72.75 playback seconds data loss.
Loaded new orbit angle table to OPS45 to decrease the battery charge time from 10 to 5 minutes. Commanding accomplished from SCCR 45-185.
POES
NOAA-17 rev 5619 / F at 1848z on July 24: GAC2B was not recovered due to pass timing issues. This data set was fully (100%) recovered on rev 5620 at 2028z.
The Svalbard Command Uplink test was terminated last night after successful commanding from antenna #2. On day four of testing, for two revs, commands were sent from SVL to NOAA-15 configured in clear mode and verified at SOCC. Svalbard successfully demonstrated command capability from both antennas over the past four days.
GOES
At 1215z on July 24, a GOES-9 frame break was observed and attributed to RFI (suspected radiosonde).
At 1646z on July 24, a GOES-12 frame break was observed and attributed to RFI (unknown source).
GOES-8 continues its westward drift at 1.06 deg/day. The drift table with the estimated current position can be found at
http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/GOES-8_Drift_Table.txt.
All GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
