NOAA GOES SATOPS Morning Report 30 May 2001
SATOPS MORNING REPORT May 30, 2001
SOCC Relocation Update: The POES OPS area move is occurring this
AM. Once this activity is complete, all three
constellations will have been relocated to the new SOCC area.
Only the computer room move remains (which is scheduled for
after the GOES and DMSP launches in July/August).
GOES-11 Normal On-Orbit Mode Testing Activities: The return of
GOES-11 to normal on-orbit mode occurred nominally
yesterday evening. In the next 24 hours, a North/South (inclination
adjust) maneuver will be conducted..
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
NOAA-14 rev 33058 / F at 0310Z on May 30: LAC2B and GAC5B received
noisy from spacecraft, with 95.5% and 98.1% of
the expected data recovered, respectively. No retransmittal required
for LAC2B. The GAC5B data set was not recoverable due
to recorder scheduling.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
At 0744Z on May 30, an encryptor recycle and swap was required due to
failure indications. Missed the GOES-8 0745Z image
and 0746Z sounding. These repeated failures are being carefully
monitored and options are being reviewed to reduce operational
impacts.
The return of GOES-11 to normal on-orbit mode occurred yesterday at
approximately 0030Z. In the next 24 hours a North/South
maneuver will be conducted to adjust spacecraft inclination.
Subsequent to that activity, planning is in place to perform an
East/West maneuver (if needed), a GOES-12 GVAR software test (by tape
transmissions), a GOES-12 Solar X-Ray Imager
(SXI) MDL data reception tested (also by tape transmissions), SAR and
DCPR transponders recalibration, and GOES-11 imager
and sounder operations. GOES-11 is scheduled to return to storage mode
on June 11.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
