SATOPS MORNING REPORT – August 22, 2000
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
On Monday, August 21, two NOAA-14 GACs were received noisy (G1A, originally
slated for rev 29084, received on rev 29086, and G5B, originally slated
for rev 29086, received on rev 29089) but ultimately received at 100% due
to data chasing by the crews.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
SAPOS testing and clean-up activities were completed successfully on
the OPS49 spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
At 1502Z on Monday, August 21, a GOES-8 frame break was observed and
attributed to RFI due to trucks operating in the vicinity of the antenna
at WCDAS.
At 2132Z on Monday, August 21, GOES-8 frame breaks were observed and
attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
At 1211Z, 1345Z, 1422Z, 1500Z, 1617Z, 1632Z, 1936Z, 2020Z, 2026Z, 2034Z
and 2045Z on Monday, August 21, frame breaks were observed on GOES-10 and
attributed to high BER (unknown causes).
At 1816Z on Monday, August 21, a GOES-10 frame break was observed and
attributed to address phasing error.
At 0257Z on Tuesday, August 22, a GOES-10 frame break was observed and
attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
Normal pre-eclipse battery reconditioning activities continue on GOES-8,
-9 and -10.
The solar array was adjusted slightly yesterday on GOES-11 to increase
the storage mode spin rate.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
