NOAA GOES SATOPS Morning Report 17 Jul 2001
GOES-M Launch Delay – The GOES-M is continuing
on schedule towards the July 22, 2001 launch date with a launch window of 03:01 – 04:25 EDT.The replacement
circuit cards arrived and were installed. Preparations are now underway
to conduct the electrical readiness test (CERT) between the
launch vehicle and the GOES-M commencing this afternoon. The successful completion of these activities today will allow
picking up the countdown on the nominal schedule flow for on Tuesday, July
17, 2001. The time for the Pre-Launch Press
Conference at the KSC Press Site on Friday July 20, 2001 has been changed
to 12:30 PM.
GOES-10 Rapid Scan Operations from 2103Z on July
16 to 0603Z on July 17 per request by Great Falls, Montana Weather Forecast Office due to severe weather over Montana.
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
NOAA-14 rev 33728 / F at 1417Z on July 16:
L3A noisy from spacecraft with 96.0% recovered. No retransmittal
required. G1A noisy from spacecraft with 97.2% recovered. Retransmittal
not required.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
At 0046Z on July 17, a GOES-8 frame break was
observed and attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
At 1954Z on July 16, a GOES-10 Rapid Scan Operation
was requested for July 16, 2103Z, to July 17, 0603Z, by Great Falls, Montana WFO due to severe weather over Montana.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
