SATOPS Morning Report – December 13, 2000

POES

No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.

Due to equipment problems, transfer of several Fairbanks data sets to
CEMSCS was delayed.

POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

DMSP

No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.

DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

GOES

No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.

GOES-8 annual north/south maneuver was successfully executed at 1753Z
on December 12, 2000.  A yaw unload was executed at 2220Z to reduce
the large spacecraft yaw momentum caused by the attitude transition errors.
The post-maneuver Image Navigation and Registration (INR) recovery process
was not easy with the combination of large spacecraft attitude error and
large orbit prediction error.  The INR performance with east/west
orbit error will be remaining until 0030Z on December 14.

GOES-10 frame break occurred at 1620Z due to high bit error rate.

GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
