SATOPS MORNING REPORT – December 12, 2000

POES

No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.

NOAA-15 AVHRR testing is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13. 
This testing will evaluate the MIRP’s ability to maintain synchronization
with non-AVHRR instruments (AMSU-A1, AMSU-A2, etc.) when in AVHRR Synchronization
mode with rephasing disabled.  The test will place the MIRP into this
mode for one orbit, after which it will be returned to internal synchronization 
mode.

NOAA-14 rev 30666/F at 1709Z on December 11:  G3A noisy from the
spacecraft with 88.6% of the expected data received.  Tape management
limitations prevented further attempts to recover data.  Also G1B
noisy from the spacecraft with 76.7% of the data initially received, with
100% of the data recovered on a later pass.

POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

DMSP

No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.

One OPS48 acquisition was declared as failed.  Voice unable to
contact site for equipment configuration change.  All of the data
was later recovered.

DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

GOES

No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.

The next GOES-8 north-south stationkeeping maneuver is planned for today,
December 12, with backup dates of Thursday, December 14, and Tuesday, December
19.  The maneuver is planned to start at 1753Z with a thruster firing
duration of 18 minutes and 15 seconds.

GOES-8 rapid scan operations were activated from 1926Z to 2326Z for
shuttle support.

GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
