SATOPS MORNING REPORT December 11, 2000

POES

No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.

NOAA-15 AVHRR testing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, December
13.  This testing will evaluate the MIRP’s ability to maintain synchronization
with non-AVHRR instruments (AMSU-A1, AMSU-A2, etc.) when in AVHRR Synchronization
mode with Rephasing Disabled. The test will place the MIRP into this mode
for one orbit, after which it will be returned to Internal Synchronization
mode.

NOAA-14 rev 30623/F at 1603z on December 8: L1B noisy from spacecraft
with 98% of the expected data received. Tape recorder management limitations
prevented further attempts to recover data.

NOAA-15 rev 13381/W at 1226z on December 9: G5B noisy and short from
the spacecraft due to antenna masking with 90% of the expected data received.
100% of the G5B data was recovered on the following pass.

NOAA-14 rev 30652/F at 1721z on December 10: G5A broke into two sections
upon receipt with an approximately ten minute section missing from the
middle of the data.  89.3% of the G5A data was recovered.

NOAA-12 rev 49737/F at 2038z on December 10: G3B was still transmitting
when Lost of Signal(LOS) was reached with 84.3% of the expected data received.

NOAA-14 rev 30655/W at 2206z on December 10:  L1B noisy from the
spacecraft with 96% of the data received.

POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

DMSP

No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.

DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

GOES

No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.

The next GOES-8 North-South Stationkeeping maneuver is planned for Tuesday,
December 12, with backup dates of Thursday, December 14, and Tuesday, December
19. The maneuver is planned to start at 1753z with a thruster firing duration
of 18 minutes and 15 seconds.

At 1948z on December 9: GOES-8 frame break occurred due to high bit
error rate at Wallops CDA.

At 1745z, 1915z and 1921z on December 9: GOES-10 frame breaks occurred
due to high bit error rate at Wallops CDA.

GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
