NOAA GOES SATOPS Morning Report 07-26-2000
SATOPS MORNING REPORT – July 26, 2000
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
GOES-8 rapid scan operations were activated from1926Z to 0226Z for severe
weather over the Great Plains.
GOES-10 frame break occurred at 0531Z due to loss of signal synchronization
at Wallops CDA.
POES
The NOAA-15 HIRS filter wheel motor housing heater was turned off yesterday
thus completing the engineering proposed test. When the heater was
turned off, temperature dropped, the current rose and the instrument went
to “NON-sync” status. With the radiometric data unusable by the products
processors under both conditions, engineering is re-evaluating possible
contingencies.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
One OPS48 acquisition was reported as lost. Reship attempts were
noisy on both tapes.
