NOAA GEOS SATOPS Morning Report 4 August 2000
SATOPS MORNING REPORT – August 4, 2000
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
GOES-8 rapid scan operations were activated from 1726Z to 2126Z for
severe weather in Vermont.
GOES-8 frame breaks occurred at 1914Z and1950Z due to thunderstorms
at Wallops CDA.
GOES-10 frame breaks occurred at 1809Z, 1857Z and 1940Z due to thunderstorms
and at 0631Z due to loss of signal synchronization at Wallops CDA.
Also, images at 1915Z and 1921Z were missed due to interference from the
thunderstorms.
GOES-10 rapid scan operations were activated from 1933Z to 0233Z for
severe weather over Nevada.
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
NOAA-15 rev 11561, P4B data was unusable due to incorrect bit synch
configuration. Tape recorder management limitations prevented recovery
of the data.
NOAA-15 rev 11567, G4A experienced IMUX recorder problem. 100% of the
data was recovered.
NOAA-15 rev 11568, G5B experienced IMUX recorder problem. 100% of the
data was recovered.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
