FIRES IN WASHINGTON AND BRITISH COLUMBIA

Heat signatures and smoke plumes (light blue haze) are visible from a fire burning in

Washington, British Columbia, and Alberta. The Fawn Peak Complex Fire has charred 70,296

acres in Okanogan National Forest. This information is from the National Interagency Fire

Center’s Incident Management Situation Report from July 30, 2003.

Heat signatures and smoke plumes (light blue haze) are visible from fires burning in Montana,

Idaho, and Alberta, Canada. The Wedge Canyon (20,500 acres) and the Robert Fire (12,500

acres) are burning in Flathead National Forest. The Trapper Complex Fire has scorched 16,700

acres in Glacier National Park. This information is from the National Interagency Fire Center’s

Heat signatures are visible from fires burning along the French Riviera. The wildfires have killed

five people, destroyed scenic forests, and forced thousands to evacuate the region.
