Operational Significant Event Imagery support team Friday, June 27, 2003 are as follows:










FIRES IN ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO

Heat signatures (red) and smoke plumes (light blue haze) are visible from fires burning in

Arizona and New Mexico. The Aspen Fire has charred 32,700 acres in Coronado National

Forest in Arizona. The Dry Lake Complex Fire (32,800 acres), Jenny Fire (5,00 acres), and Seco

Fire (4,600 acres) have scorched parts of Gila National Forest in New Mexico. This information

is from the National Interagency Fire Center’s Incident Management Situation Report from June

27, 2003. The pink areas visible in this image are due to solar heating of the ground surface.

DUST STORM ACROSS AFGHANISTAN AND PAKISTAN
