Description

NASA Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville, AL solicits interest from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use.

THE TECHNOLOGY:

Scientists at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center have developed a set of unique magnetostrictive (MS) technologies for utilization in pressure regulation and valve systems. By combining MS-based sensors with a newly designed MS-based valve, Marshall has developed an advanced MS regulator. This innovative approach provides both a regulator and a valve with rapid response times. In addition, the components are lightweight, compact, highly precise, and can operate over a wide range of temperatures and pressures. A prototype of the MS valve has been developed and NASA is seeking partners for licensure of this novel technology To express interest in this opportunity, please respond to Jonas Hall, Research Triangle International (RTI), at E-mail: jonashall@rti.org, or phone: 919.541.7427. Please indicate the date and title of the FBO notice and include your company and contact information. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal at http:// http://techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/index.php .

RTI is responsible for aggregating and acknowledging all responses. These responses are provided to members of NASA Marshall’s Technology Transfer Office for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products, and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. If direct licensing interest results from this posting, the Technology Transfer Office will follow the required formal licensing process of posting in the Federal Register. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.
