Description

NASA HQ plans to issues a Modification to extend an existing contractual agreement by 5 months for continued performance for the NASA Student Ambassadors Virtual Community (NSAVC) web communication tool contract. The NSAVC is a communication tool, which is designed to enhance science and technology competencies and research skill development with a greater likelihood of student successfully completing degrees in science, technology, mathematics, and engineering (STEM) disciplines and entering the NASA workforce. The virtual community allows the Office of Education to implement communication and program management strategies shared with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of the NASA Administrator that related to intensifying outreach via virtual communication to the 18 to “thirty-something” year old STEM population.

NASA Headquarters is currently processing the follow-on procurement which will be awarded on a competitive basis.

This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).

The authority is FAR 6.302-1 “only one responsible source”. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing, by FAX or E-Mail, to the identified point of contact not later than 11:00 a.m. (EST.) on April 12, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
