Description

NASA/GRC has a requirement for 1 JOB to design, fabricate, and test small-scale mass-and-spring assembly used with an Inprox Technology Corp (ITC) variable reactance transducer. This is a follow on purchase order to a previous award. The design of the variable reactance transducer and high temperate spring and mass materials will provide operation at 500 degree C for approaching the 0.3 mHz to 1 Hz seismic frequency spectrum. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Inprox Technology Corporation. PER FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) the only source that has technology able to operate up to 650 degrees C and has the only available source for the necessary sensor technology. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Monday, September 20, 2010.

Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
