Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Technology Referesh of the software and hardware of the Earth Observing System Data Information (EOSDIS) Core System (ECS) Science Data Processing System (SDPS) and the ECS Maintenance Environment. In order to mitigate end of service life issues with the EOSDIS SDPS’s file system backup capability, the contractor shall implement technology refresh of this capability at the Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LPDAAC) in Sioux Falls, SD, at the Atmospheric Services Data Center (ASDC) in Langley, VA, at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) in Boulder, CO, and at the SDPS maintenance environment at the Contractor’s facility in Riverdale, MD. In order to meet increased archive capacity requirements, the contractor shall augment online disk storage and backup tape media at the ASDC, LPDAAC and NSIDC. The contractor is responsible for the total hardware and software development process including, but not limited to, management, design, implementation, modification, configuration management, personnel training, operator training for baseline changes, integration, installation, user liaison, help desk support, testing, quality assurance and technical assistance.
NASA/GSFC intends to award a new Task 03 under Contract No. NNG09HP00C with Raytheon Company. Cost plus award fee Contract No. NNG09HP00C was awarded Raytheon Company, on May 23, 2009, on a sole source basis while a competitive procurement is in process.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.
