NASA/ Kennedy Space Center (KSC) plans to issue a Sole Source Request for Quotation (RFQ) with Profile East Inc (PEI)., Orlando, FL, for services to upgrade Webcast Multimedia Studio, KSC Press Site Video Capture and Editing System. This upgrade will provide fiber connections to the current Video Capture and Editing Systems and will allow for a more dynamic work flow environment.

Profile East Inc., has the provided upgrade services on this equipment and has intimate knowledge of the configuration in order to limit studio down time during the upgrade. In addition, PEI is the only know distributer that has the ability to provide service support for both Matrox and Facilis which are the two key components of this equipment.

This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms other than the sole source cited shall submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities and quotes, providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government’s requirement to the identified point of contact not later than 7:00 a.m. eastern standard time, December 30, 2009 at NASA/Kennedy Space Center, Attn: Donny Wood, OP-OS, Kennedy Space Center FL 32899,, or fax to (321) 867-1188.

Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note “B”.
