Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Glenn Research Center is releasing a Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) for the development, implementation and administration of the Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST) Project. The MUST project is a competitive scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students specifically targeting rising sophomores and juniors from a diverse pool of underrepresented and underserved groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. MUST Scholars who maintain the required minimum 3.0 GPA may renew through their senior year, and are also granted paid internships at NASA Centers each summer, along with academic enrichment opportunities which include access to tutoring, and other related programs. The MUST Project addresses the national workforce shortage of STEM fields by providing assistance and support to students during the early years of their collegiate experience.
The Cooperative Agreement Notice is anticipated to be released on or about May 6, 2011. Upon its release date, this CAN will be available electronically through http://nspires.nasaprs.com
Proposals will be accepted from Minority Serving Institutions, which include Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Servicing Institutions (HIS) and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU) and non-profit organizations serving underserved/underrepresented students. Partnerships among these institutions and/or organizations are encouraged to apply.
Electronically submitted Notices of Intent to propose are requested to be sent to the contact below. Proposal due date and exact location of submissions will be identified in the CAN. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered. For this notice, the provisions contained in the NASA Grant and Cooperative Agreement Handbook (NPR 5800.1) applies.
This solicitation leading to the award of a Cooperative Agreement is issued pursuant to title 14 CFR Part 1260 for educational and nonprofit institutions.
