Description

The Lunar Lander Project Office at the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC), plans to issue a Broad Agency Announcement soliciting proposals for two study areas. The first study (Study Area 1) is titled Design Evaluation and Safety Improvements. Study Area 1 is broken into parts 1a and 1b. Study Area 1a seeks to gain industry input/evaluation on the technical solution and viability of the Lunar Design Analysis Cycle 1 (LDAC-1) design and Study Area 1b seeks to develop and submit innovative approaches to improve the safety and reliability of the LDAC-1. The second study (Study Area 2) is titled Industry/Government Partnering Arrangements and seeks innovative approaches to project management and the government – industry relationship leading up to the prime contractor effort, with the goal of minimizing Design, Development, Test, and Evaluation (DDT&E) and life cycle costs.

The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.

NASA anticipates release of the Broad Agency Announcement in January 2008. Responses will be due 30 days after release. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.

The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541330 and 1,000 employees, respectively.

Please notify the Contracting Officer of your intent to respond by noon local time January 31, 2008. E-mail is the preferred method of submission. The notification should include the company name, president, address, phone number and point of contact. Please provide an e-mail address in order to expedite communications. It is the respondent’s responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Any referenced numbered notes may be viewed at the following URL linked below.
