The Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics (WAD) Focus Area is primarily designed to apply NASA scientific remote sensing expertise to obtain accurate and globally distributed measurements of the atmosphere and its boundary conditions. WAD uses these measurements in retrievals, research, and weather forecast models in order to both enhance our understanding of weather systems and their role(s) in the Earth system, as well as to improve and extend U.S. and global weather prediction.

On May 10, 2022 WAD science questions were added to Section 2.5 of A.1, The Earth Science Research Overview on the top of page 18. New text is in bold.

Questions regarding WAD or this change may be directed to Tsengdar Lee at tsengdar.j.lee@nasa.gov.
