NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) will be represented at the NASA Job Fair on February 24, 2005. The NSSC has 159 Inherently Governmental positions to fill over a 3-year period, May 2005 – June 2008. Approximately 90 of those positions will be filled during FY05.

A representative from NSSC will be sharing information about the Center, its purpose and staffing plans in a briefing scheduled on February 24, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Development Engineering Building (DEB) Auditorium, Bldg. 500. The representative will be available to speak to interested employees from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be located in Rm. 3109 of the DEB. There are no current job vacancies for the Center; however, in April a variety of positions will be open. No NSSC interviews will be conducted at the Job Fair.

The NSSC, which opens for business October 1, 2005, will perform a variety of transactional and administrative activities in Human Resources, Financial Management, Procurement and Information Technology currently being done at each Center. It will integrate work across NASA to provide high quality, efficient, consistent service to customers inside and outside the Agency.

The NSSC is in the midst of an A-76 competition of which location is a factor. The location of the NSSC will be determined in May 2005. There are three potential locations in the competition that are on or near a NASA Center, they are: Stennis Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center and Glenn Research Center.

More information can be found on the NSSC website: http://nssc.nasa.gov

Extra Center bus service will be provided on February 24 to accommodate employees’ interest in all the scheduled NASA Job Fair events, both at the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) and the DEB. Two buses will run an expanded all day service between 8:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. between the DEB and OAI.
