The Heliophysics Mission Concept Studies (HMCS) program element of ROSES-2021 will fund six-month-long mission concept studies as part of community preparation for the next Solar and Space Physics Decadal Survey. These studies will be conducted by the proposal team, using mission design capabilities included in the proposal, and will result in a final mission concept report delivered to NASA. Additionally, NASA will support awardees submitting and briefing the mission concept to the Decadal Survey Committee. Mission concepts must be relevant to the Solar Terrestrial Probes program. Mission concepts relevant to the Living With a Star program are not solicited.

If the final text includes only minor changes/clarifications compared to the draft, the time from release to the Step-2 proposal due date may be fewer than 90 days.
