NASA ROSES-20 Amendment 8: Space Weather Science Application Operations-to-Research Final Text and Due Dates
The primary goal of Space Weather Science Application Operations-to-Research (SWO2R), program element B.7 is to support research to improve numerical models and/or data utilization techniques that could advance specification and/or forecasting capabilities and could also lead to improved scientific understanding. There are two focus areas for this opportunity:
· Satellite Drag: Improve the specification and forecast of neutral density in the thermosphere as it pertains to satellite drag and orbital operations.
· Ionospheric Disturbances: Improve forecasts and/or specifications of ionospheric disturbances that impact: 1. positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) derived from the Global Navigation Satellite System, and/or 2. radio communication.
ROSES-2020 Amendment 8 releases final text and due dates for B.7 SWO2R. Step-1 proposals are due December 16, 2020, and Step-2 proposals are due February 17, 2021.
On or about March 25, 2020, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2020” (NNH20ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.
