Program element A.51 solicits proposals for participation in the Science Team for the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) and Orbiting Carbon Observatory-3 (OCO-3) Missions. OCO-2 and OCO-3 return high precision observations of column CO2 abundances on a near global basis. The current version of the data significantly reduces the systematic differences/biases between observations over land and those from the glint observations over the ocean. Hence, desired contributions to the OCO team are mainly for science analysis that effectively advances the OCO-2 and OCO-3 science goals. Several focused activities are being solicited, with the goal of advancing these science goals and enabling production of future improved OCO-2 and OCO-3 data products.

Amendment 37 announces a new opportunity: Science Team for the Orbiting Carbon Observatory Missions has been added to ROSES-2020 asprogram element A.51. Notices of Intent are requested by November 13, 2020 and proposals are due January 13, 2021.

In addition, A.1 The Earth Science Research Overview has been updated to reflect the addition of this and other recent new Earth Science program elements to Appendix A (A.49-A.51) and the change on April 16, of the status of A.33 TASNPP, which was originally listed as not solicited, to one that will be solicited.

On or about June 29, 2020, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2020” (NNH20ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2020and will appear on SARA’s ROSES blog at: https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/grant-solicitations/roses-2020/.

Questions concerning Science Team for the OCO Missions may be directed to Kenneth Jucks, who may be reached at kenneth.w.jucks@nasa.gov.
