The LCLUC program has a special place in NASA Earth Science in developing interdisciplinary approaches combining aspects of physical, social and economic sciences, with a high level of societal relevance, while using remote sensing tools, methods, and data. This solicitation consists of two elements: Global mapping of industrial forests from Landsat observations and Synthesis of LCLUC studies in Eurasia.

This amendment adds two sections to the calls for proposals: Social and economic sciences in the NASA LCLUC program and Synthesis in the LCLUC program. In addition this Amendment increases from twelve to fifteen weeks the time that may elapse between submission of their Step-1 proposals and when proposers will receive electronic notification of whether they are, or are not, invited to submit Step-2 full proposals.

The due date for Step-1 proposals has changed to November 30, 2012 and the due date for Step-2 proposals remains unchanged at June 3, 2013.

On or about May 29, 2012, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2012” (NNH12ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ and will appear on the RSS feed at: http://nasascience.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/grant-solicitations/roses-2012 .
