NASA ROA-2018 Amendment 5: Corrections to Appendix D.4, University Leadership Initiative (ULI)

ROA-2018 Amendment 5: This amendment changes a typographical error in the “Summary of Key Information” table in Section D4.4. The Funding opportunity number should be NNH18ZEA001N-ULI2 instead of NNH18ZEA001N-ULI1.

University Leadership Initiative (ULI) provides the opportunity for university teams to exercise technical and organizational leadership in proposing unique technical challenges in aeronautics, defining multi-disciplinary solutions, establishing peer review mechanisms, and applying innovative teaming strategies to strengthen the research impact.

Research proposals are sought in eight ULI topic areas in Appendix D.4:

Topic 1: Safe, Efficient Growth in Global Operations (Strategic Thrust 1)

Topic 2: Innovation in Commercial Supersonic Aircraft (Strategic Thrust 2)

Topic 3: Subsonic Transport (Strategic Thrust 3a)

Topic 4: Civil Aircraft that Incorporate Vertical Lift Capability (Strategic Thrust 3b)

Topic 5: Transition to Alternative Propulsion and Energy (Strategic Thrust 4)

Topic 6: Real-Time System-Wide Safety Assurance (Strategic Thrust 5)

Topic 7: Assured Autonomy for Aviation Transformation (Strategic Thrust 6)

Topic 8: Materials and Structures for Next-Generation Aerospace Systems

This amendment changes a typographical error in the “Summary of Key Information” table in Section D4.4. The Funding opportunity number should be NNH18ZEA001N-ULI2. The due date for Step-A proposals remains unchanged at August 27, 2019.
