Description

NASA/HQ has the opportunity to support a special issue of “Oceanography”, being published by The Oceanographic Society. The publication promotes and chronicles all aspects of ocean science and its applications and has the widest dissemination of information to those interested in oceanographic issues. The special issue will be comprised of 12 separate articles on the Indonesian Seas, three of which are contributions by NASA center scientists. The publication will have the same distribution as a regular issue. As sponsors, NASA will receive 500 copies of the special issue. NASA/HQ intends to award a purchase order to The Oceoanography Society. The authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) “only one responsible source” The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing, by FAX or E-Mail, to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 26, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
