NASA/LaRC has a requirement for Music Prouction Services. The Statement of Work is linked above or may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. ] This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than November 10, 2003. Prospective quoters shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quotation. It is the quoter’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed – See NASA Specific Note “B”. Statement Of Work

Enterprise Theme Songs

Digital Media and Technology Lab

Office of Education

1.0 Introduction/Background

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Research Center has a requirement for music production services. These services will be used by NASA Enterprises as part of an Earth Crew Webcast series that is being produced through the Educator Astronaut Program at NASA Headquarters. There will be five Webcasts produced over the next few months.

2.0 Requirements

The contractor is required to have demonstrated expertise in producing theme songs and music productions for video broadcasts.

3.0 Tasks

The contractor shall produce five Enterprise specific theme songs as part of the Earth Crew Webcast Series. Tasks include writing lyrics and music; securing professional talent to perform compositions, and producing Master final recording. A sample theme song is available at http://dml.larc.nasa.gov.

4.0 Period of Performance

The period of performance shall be from contract award through June 30, 2004.

5.0 Deliverables

The contractor shall provide a sample of the theme music for the first Webcast, Earth Science, with their quote. The sample shall be a minimum of 30 seconds.

The contractor shall deliver a CD of the finished version of each theme song. Upon approval, the finished version shall include one version with singing, approximately four minutes, and up to four versions (:30 seconds, :60 seconds, 2 and 4 minutes) with and without vocals for use in TV commercials, webcasts, website, etc.

Final CD Version shall be delivered as follows:

  • Earth Science November 15, 2003
  • Biological and Physical Research January 15, 2004
  • Space Science March 15, 2004
  • Space Flight/ISS April 15, 2004
  • Aerospace Technology May 15, 2004

Government Furnished Equipment

No government furnished equipment will be provided under this contract.
