Federal Business Opportunities synopsis for NRA 04-OBPR-01, a NASA Research Announcement: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Biological and Physical Research (OBPR) solicits proposals for Flight Experiments in selected areas of Fundamental Space Biology (FSB) and Biomedical Research and Countermeasures (BR&C). For this research, NASA will provide access to space on the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, or other vehicles as available.

This solicitation will be open to all categories of organizations, industry, educational institutions, other nonprofit organizations, NASA laboratories, and other government agencies. This solicitation is being coordinated with solicitations from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the French Space agency (CNES), the German Space agency (DLR), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU). Proposals from entities within countries represented by these agencies should be made to the solicitation from the corresponding agency.

This solicitation specifically identifies research areas, spaceflight opportunities, and available facilities and equipment. Proposals must comply with the terms and conditions stated in the solicitation.

This research supports NASA’s mission and the Office of Biological and Physical Research (OBPR). All participants in this solicitation are strongly encouraged to promote general scientific literacy and public understanding of life sciences, the space environment, and the OBPR programs through formal and informal education opportunities. Where appropriate, supported investigators will collaborate with NASA to develop a plan for communicating their work to the public.
