The Biological and Physical Sciences Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) has released Appendix G of “Use of the NASA Physical Sciences Informatics System” (NRA NNH17ZTT001N). Appendix G solicits proposals in six research areas: Biophysics, Combustion Science, Complex Fluids, Fluid Physics, Fundamental Physics, and Materials Science. Specifically, the Appendix solicits proposals that utilize data from 70 eligible investigations listed in Appendix G and on the PSI website. The proposal due date is December 15, 2020. The Appendix may be amended, if necessary, with an updated list of eligible investigations. If so, the new due date for proposals will be delayed, so it is no fewer than 90 days from the date of amendment.

Appendix G solicits proposals for ground-based research using experimental data from NASA’s Physical Sciences Informatics (PSI) system (http://psi.nasa.gov). PSI is an online database of completed physical science reduced-gravity flight experiments conducted on the International Space Station (ISS), Space Shuttle flights, Free-flyers, commercial cargo flights to and from the ISS, or from related ground-based studies.

Notices of Intent for Appendix G are due by October 30, 2020, via NSPIRES. Proposals must be submitted by an authorized official of the proposing organization viaNSPIRES or Grants.gov by December 15, 2020.
