NASA [Oceo] EONS 2022- MAIANSE CONNECTing Indigenous Culture and Science through Co-design of STEM Ecosystems (MAIANSE CONNECT) – New Proposal Deadlin
This National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) entitled Engagement Opportunities in NASA STEM (EONS) – 2022, solicits proposals for competitive funding opportunities in support of the Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) administered by NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM). EONS-2022 is an omnibus announcement that includes a wide range of NASA STEM Engagement opportunities for basic and applied science and technology research and education. Specific opportunities will be issued periodically throughout the year as Appendices to this solicitation with individual requirements and milestones.

NASA OSTEM’s Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) for American Indian and Alaska Native STEM Engagement CONNECTing Indigenous Culture and Science Through Co-design of STEM Ecosystems (MAIANSE CONNECT) solicits proposals from Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTIs), and Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions (ANNHs), as identified by the U.S. Department of Education, to develop STEM ecosystems through the creation of co-designed STEM engagement activities with a focus on weaving NASA unique assets with community needs and partnerships. MAIANSE CONNECT seeks proposals which include
Level 1 Awards will be funded up to $75K per year for a period of performance of two (2) years. This award level shall include STEM engagement activities (see link above for details in Appendix J, Section J.2.1).
Level 2 Awards will be funded between $200-250K per year for a minimum period of performance of three (3) years, with the opportunity to extend performance for a maximum of five (5) years (subject to program approval and available funding). This award level shall include research activities and curriculum design collaborations with any of the NASA Mission Directorates.
IMPORTANT BUDGET/BUDGET JUSTIFICATION NOTE for LEVEL 2 AWARD PROPOSALS: The NSPIRES system is not configured to allow the input of budgets/budget justification for Years 3-5 for Level 2 proposals. In lieu of this, proposers to Level 2 awards should clearly define all budgetary information for Years 3-5 under the “BUDGET DETAIL” and “BUDGET JUSTIFICATION“ sections of their proposals.
